What Silvertrac is
Silvertrac is guard tour and reporting software for security companies. It joined Trackforce Valiant in January 2020, and in 2026 Trackforce brought TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac together under one Trackforce brand. Silvertrac is the simpler, lower-priced product in that family; TrackTik is the larger platform.
On its product page, Trackforce describes Silvertrac as covering:
- Guard tours with unlimited checkpoints and step-by-step instructions at each one. Third-party listings mention QR codes, barcodes and NFC tags.
- GPS tracking with live officer location and alerts when a patrol goes off course.
- Incident reports with photos, audio and text, time-stamped.
- Daily activity reports built automatically from officer activity, and a client portal with summary reports.
- Dispatch, tasks and pass-down including post orders and emergency contacts at the start of each shift, and two-way messages.
- Parking enforcement with warnings, violations and repeat-offender lookup.
What Silvertrac costs
Trackforce doesn’t publish a Silvertrac price on its own site. Its product page says “No contracts. No hidden fees. Easy monthly payments.”
Capterra and Software Advice list one plan: $249 a month, flat rate, for up to 10 devices. The listing includes guard tours, incident reports, daily activity reports, live GPS, the client portal, parking management and unlimited one-on-one training calls with an account manager. Neither listing gives a price above 10 devices, and Capterra lists no free trial.
The listings don’t name a currency; Capterra’s main site prices in US dollars, so assume US$249 until your quote says otherwise.

Per-device or per-guard: which is cheaper for you
Device pricing and guard pricing reward different operations. If your guards share a phone that stays at the post, a device plan counts posts, not people, and a firm with many guards per phone can pay less with it. If guards use their own phones, every guard is a device, and a 10-device band fills up quickly.
Here is the same arithmetic for three firms. It compares a US-dollar price with a Canadian-dollar one, so convert at the day’s rate before deciding: US$249 has been worth more than CA$330 at every exchange rate of the past few years.
| Firm | Silvertrac | GuardDesk Starter | Likely cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 post phones shared by 45 guards | $249 a month | CA$405 a month | Silvertrac |
| 8 post phones shared by 25 guards | $249 a month | CA$225 a month | GuardDesk, once converted |
| 30 guards on their own phones | Above the published band: quote | CA$270 a month | Ask Silvertrac for a quote at 30 devices |
GuardDesk bills guards who clocked into at least one shift that month; office staff and former guards are free.

What reviewers say
Silvertrac is well rated. In October 2026 Capterra showed 4.7 out of 5 from 279 reviews, with customer service rated 4.8 and features 4.5. Most reviewers are small security companies.
The praise is consistent: guards learn the app in minutes, QR scanning and GPS work, and clients like getting reports with photos and timestamps by email. Several owners say the reports help them win and keep contracts.
The complaints are consistent too, though fewer. Some reviewers, mostly in 2023 and 2024, describe slow technical support and trouble reaching billing or cancelling. Others find the reports plain and hard to customize, or say they outgrew the feature set as the firm grew.

Five things to test in any demo
- 1A call-off two hours before a night shift. Can the dispatcher see who is eligible, licensed and rested, and offer the shift to several guards at once?
- 2A patrol through a basement with no signal. Scan checkpoints and file an incident with photos offline, then reconnect. Is anything lost?
- 3A scan from the wrong place. Photograph a QR code and scan the photo from somewhere else. Does the system notice?
- 4A client disputes last Tuesday. How long does it take to pull the shift, clock-ins, scans and the incident into one answer?
- 5The end of the month. Do the hours in the system become a timesheet your payroll provider can import, or does someone retype them?

Where GuardDesk fits
GuardDesk covers what Silvertrac does well, guard tours with NFC, QR or GPS checkpoints, incident reports with photos, and a daily client report, and adds scheduling with licence checks, a live exception inbox and timesheets in the same system. Every scan is checked on the server, the guard app works offline, and everything is in English and French.
You pay per active guard rather than per device, with no setup fee and no contract, and guards use their own phones. If your guards share a few post phones, a device plan may cost less; run the numbers above with your own counts.

Trackforce doesn’t publish a price. Capterra and Software Advice list $249 a month, flat rate, for up to 10 devices. Above 10 devices you need a quote.
Is Silvertrac the same company as TrackTik?
Yes. Both belong to Trackforce, which brought TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac together under one brand in 2026.
Does Silvertrac require a contract?
Trackforce markets Silvertrac with “No contracts” and monthly payments. Confirm the notice period and how to cancel in writing before you start.
Does Silvertrac do scheduling?
The Silvertrac product page doesn’t describe shift scheduling or timesheets. If you need them, ask to see them in the demo, or compare a platform that includes them.
