TrackTik, Silvertrac and GuardTek are one vendor now
If you are comparing TrackTik with Silvertrac, you are comparing two products from the same company. Silvertrac joined Trackforce Valiant in January 2020, Trackforce Valiant acquired TrackTik in June 2022, and in 2026 the company brought TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac together under a single Trackforce brand.
That matters when you negotiate. Moving from one of these products to another is a move inside one vendor, not a competitive switch: same sales team, and usually a migration onto the larger platform. The terms do differ by product. Trackforce markets Silvertrac with “No contracts” and monthly payments, while TrackTik is quoted by site and module, and Trackforce gives 6 to 8 weeks as its typical time to launch. If you want real price competition, include at least one vendor outside that group in your shortlist.
Four pricing models, and what each one punishes
Security software is sold in four ways. The headline price matters less than which model you are on, because each one gets expensive for a different kind of firm.
- Per site and per module. Trackforce says TrackTik pricing is built around your site count and the modules you run, and it publishes no rates. This model suits a firm with a few large sites. It punishes the typical mid-size contractor with many small sites and mobile patrol stops.
- Per device or per bracket. You pay for a band of devices or guard IDs. Third-party listings show Silvertrac starting at a flat monthly price for up to 10 devices, and QR-Patrol sells brackets of guard IDs. Brackets punish the firm that sits just above a threshold.
- Per user on file. GuardsPro, Deputy and Connecteam charge per user. In an industry where turnover is high, check whether a guard who left last month still counts.
- Per active guard. You pay only for guards who actually worked a shift that month. Office staff, guards on leave and former guards are free. This is how GuardDesk prices.
What the main platforms publish, for a 50-guard firm
These are the prices each vendor publishes for a firm with about 50 guards, checked on October 14, 2026. Several vendors price in US dollars; convert before you compare, and ask every vendor for a written first-year total including setup, devices and add-ons.
| Product | Pricing model | Published price | Monthly cost at 50 guards |
|---|---|---|---|
| GuardDesk Starter | Per active guard | CA$9 per active guard | CA$450 |
| GuardDesk Pro | Per active guard | CA$14 per active guard | CA$700 |
| TrackTik (Trackforce) | Per site and module | Not published, quote only | Ask for a written quote |
| Silvertrac (Trackforce) | Per device band | Not published by the vendor; Capterra lists $249 a month for up to 10 devices | Ask for a written quote |
| GuardsPro | Per user, 3-user minimum | US$5, $8 or $10 per user (monthly billing) | US$250 to $500 |
| QR-Patrol | Per bracket of guard IDs | US$376, $723 or $1,387 a month for 50 to 100 guard IDs | US$376 to $1,387 |
| Belfry | Per user | Not published, quote only | Ask for a written quote |
| WinTeam | Quote | Not published, quote only | Ask for a written quote |
| Celayix | Per employee band, annual term | US$400 to $800 a month for up to 100 employees, 25-licence minimum | US$400 to $800 |
| Connecteam | First 30 users, then per user | From US$29 to $119 a month for 30 users, plus each extra user | About US$45 to $219 |
| Deputy | Per user | US$5, $6.50 or $9 per user | US$250 to $450 |
Prices exclude taxes and change often. Annual billing discounts exist for most products. Sources are listed at the end of this guide.
Site-based vs per-guard pricing: when each one wins
Because Trackforce quotes privately, the only honest way to compare is to model it. Take a site-based rate of CA$75 per site per month as an illustration. It is not a Trackforce price; replace it with the figure on your own quote.
For a typical regional contractor with 50 guards spread over 20 sites, site-based pricing costs CA$1,500 a month before modules and setup, against CA$450 for 50 active guards on GuardDesk Starter. Now flip the firm: 80 guards on two large 24/7 campuses. Site-based pricing drops to CA$150 a month, and per-guard pricing becomes the expensive option at CA$720.
The break-even is simple: divide the site rate by the guard rate. At CA$75 per site and CA$9 per guard it is about eight guards per site. Below that, per-guard pricing wins. Above that, ask the site-based vendor for a quote, because it may genuinely be cheaper.
| Firm profile | Site-based (illustrative) | Per active guard (Starter) | Cheaper |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 guards, 20 sites | CA$1,500 a month | CA$450 a month | Per guard |
| 50 guards, 8 sites | CA$600 a month | CA$450 a month | Per guard, narrowly |
| 80 guards, 2 campuses | CA$150 a month | CA$720 a month | Site-based |
Site-based figures exclude modules, devices and onboarding fees, which are usually quoted separately.
Eight options, and what to check with each
None of these is the best choice for every firm. The right question is what you need the software to prove to your clients, and which product proves it at your size.
| Product | What it is | Check before you sign |
|---|---|---|
| GuardDesk | Security operations platform: scheduling, verified patrols, incidents, live exceptions, timesheets and a daily client report, in English and French. | A young product in its pilot program; no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification yet; no built-in payroll processing. |
| GuardsPro | Security guard management app with tiered per-user plans. | Which features sit in which tier, and what add-ons cost per user. |
| QR-Patrol | Guard tour and reporting system priced by brackets of guard IDs. | Which bracket you land in as you grow, and what the higher plans add. |
| Belfry | Security-industry platform that positions itself as all-in-one. | A written quote for your guard count, and contract length. |
| Celayix | Workforce scheduling platform used by security firms. | Annual term and 25-licence minimum; implementation is priced separately. |
| Connecteam | General employee app: scheduling, time clock, forms and chat. | How it handles checkpoint tours and proof of service for clients. |
| Deputy | General shift scheduling and timesheets across industries. | Whether you need a separate tool for patrols, incidents and client reports. |
| WinTeam | Integrated workforce and financial system: scheduling, payroll, accounting and job costing, built for larger contractors. | Treat it as a business-system project: budget for configuration, data migration and training, and involve your accounting staff. |
Where GuardDesk fits
GuardDesk is built for contract security firms with 20 to 150 guards. Starter is CA$9 and Pro CA$14 per active guard per month, with no setup fee, no per-site fee and no annual contract. Only guards who clocked into at least one shift that month are billed, with a small monthly minimum that stops applying from 17 guards on Starter and 18 on Pro.
Scheduling with licence checks, the guard app, verified NFC, QR and GPS patrols, incidents, the live exception inbox and the daily client report are all in Starter. Pro adds client portal logins, labour-rule compliance (rest between shifts, overtime, a 7-day maximum), recurring schedules, leave management and help writing reports.
We are also candid about the limits. If you need payroll processed inside your operations software, or a full ERP with billing and HR, a larger platform is the better fit today.

Why general schedulers struggle with patrol work
General workforce apps are good at shifts, time clocks and messages. A security contract asks for more: proof that each round happened, evidence that holds up after an incident, and a report the client can read in the morning.
If you use a general scheduler, you usually end up adding a tour app, a forms tool and a spreadsheet for client reports. Before you decide, price that whole stack, and count the hours a supervisor spends copying data between tools every week.

Test your hardest night, not the vendor’s demo
A sales demo follows the software’s best path. Give every shortlisted vendor the same five scenarios from your own operation, and watch them done live, on the phones your guards actually use.
- 1A guard calls off two hours before a night shift. Can the dispatcher see who is eligible, licensed and rested, offer the shift to several guards at once, and keep a record of who accepted?
- 2A patrol runs through a basement with no signal. Have the guard scan checkpoints and file an incident with photos offline, then reconnect. Is anything lost or duplicated?
- 3A client disputes last Tuesday night. How long does it take to pull the shift, the clock-ins, every scan and the incident into one answer, without a spreadsheet?
- 4A timesheet is wrong. Can a supervisor correct it while keeping the original, the reason and who approved it? Can payroll tell a missing clock-out from a real one?
- 5A French-speaking guard and an English-speaking client. Check the guard app, the supervisor screens, the notifications and the client report in each language, not just the website.
How to switch without a gap in coverage
Most firms can move 20 to 150 guards in two to four weeks. The order matters more than the speed.
- 1Read your contract first. Find the end date, the auto-renewal clause and the notice period. Many multi-year contracts renew automatically unless you give notice months ahead.
- 2Export everything you will need later. Guards and their licences, sites, checkpoint lists, post orders, open incidents and at least the current year of reports and timesheets. Ask for the export format in writing.
- 3Run one site in parallel. Pick a site with a demanding client and run both systems for one to two weeks. Compare the reports side by side.
- 4Re-tag checkpoints during a day shift. Replace or re-register tags site by site, and test each one before the night shift relies on it.
- 5Brief guards in ten minutes. Install, sign in, one practice round. Guards adopt an app quickly when it saves them typing.
- 6Cut over on a pay-period boundary. Timesheets stay in one system per pay period, which keeps payroll and billing clean.
- 7Keep read-only access to the old system. Your clients and insurers may ask for old reports. Keep the export, or access, for as long as your retention policy requires.
Ten questions to ask any vendor
- What will I pay in year one, in writing, for my guard count and my site count, including setup, devices and add-ons?
- What happens when a guard leaves? Do I keep paying for them, and is there a fee to add their replacement?
- How long is the contract, and does it renew automatically?
- Is scheduling included, or is it a separate module?
- Does the guard app work with no signal, and what happens to a half-written report?
- Are checkpoint scans checked on the server, or only on the phone?
- What does the client see, and can I control it per client?
- Where is our data stored, and who can access it?
- How do I get my data out when I leave, in what format, and at what cost?
- Who answers at 3 a.m. when the app stops working on a site?
Questions owners ask
Are TrackTik and Silvertrac owned by the same company?
Yes. Silvertrac joined Trackforce Valiant in January 2020 and Trackforce Valiant acquired TrackTik in June 2022. In 2026 TrackTik, GuardTek and Silvertrac were brought together under the Trackforce brand.
How much does TrackTik cost per month in 2026?
Trackforce does not publish TrackTik prices. Its pricing page says pricing is built around your site count and the modules you run, so you need a quote. Ask for a written first-year total that includes onboarding, devices and every module you plan to use.
Is per-site or per-guard pricing cheaper for security software?
It depends on how many guards work at each site. Firms with many small sites usually pay less per guard; firms with a few large 24/7 campuses can pay less per site. Model both with your own numbers before you sign.
How long does it take to switch security guard management software?
Two to four weeks for most firms with 20 to 150 guards: about a week to import guards, sites and checkpoints, one to two weeks of a parallel run on one site, then a cut-over at the start of a pay period.
Does GuardDesk charge for guards who did not work that month?
No. GuardDesk bills only guards who clocked into at least one shift in the billing month. Office users, guards on leave and former guards are kept in the system at no charge.
